41 But he said to them: “How is [it] that they say that the Christ is David's son? 42 For David himself says in the book of psalms [airilírion = of holy songs]: The Lord said to my lord: Sit by my right hand, 43 until I shall put your enemies under your feet. 44 Thus David calls him lord. Then how is he his son?” 45 While the entire people listened, he said to his disciples: 46 “Watch yourselves because of the scribes that wish to walk [around] in robes and live greetings in the market places and the first seats in the synagogues and the prominent places at the suppers, 47 and that devour the houses of widows and pray long prayes to be seen by others. They will receive a heavier judgement.”
