The Flora Of The Gypsum Areas Of Çankırı- Korubaşı Hıll And Its Surroundıngs
This study was prepared at the University of Istanbul Institute of Sciences, Forest Engineering Department, Program of Forest Botany as a master thesis entitled “ The Flora of The Gypsum Areas of Çankırı-Korubaşı Hill and its Surroundings ”.
Research area is located in the province of Çankırı, and it covers Korubaşı Hill and its surrounding area, which is between Çankırı and the town of Eldivan. According to P.H. Davis’ grid system, research area is within A4 frame.
As a result of 8 fieldworks in the research area and herbarium works, 523 plant specimens have been collected from the research area in different vegetation periods from March, 2010 to March, 2011. After the identification of the collected plant specimens, 357 taxa belonging to 222 genera and 66 families have been determined. 63 of them are endemic for Turkey. The rate of endemism is 17,6 %. The distribution of taxa according to phytogeographical regions are as follows: Irano-Turanian elements 95 (26,6 %), Europe-Siberian elements 21 (5,9 %), Mediterrenean elements 20 (5,6 %), and the other are 221 (61,9 %).
