Process Analysıs Of Operational Planing At Container Terminals
At recent years, container transportation has increased due to the progress of international trade. In 1988 the number of transported containers was 76 million TEU and in 2008 the number is more than 500 million TEU. And this increase are expected to go on in future years. With this increase in container demand, in the last decade container fleet number has been doubled, 8000 and more TEU new generation container ships are used instead of 500 TEU first generation ships. This situation has increased the demand of container terminals and terminal equipments and the importance of container terminals.

Having limited resources makes container terminals transport containers very fast by increasing container terminal productivity and decreasing the costs in order to compete, to reply the increasing demand of container and increase container output. The necessity can be achived only if the container terminal operations are well planned, applied and controlled. In this context, in thesis study analysing of operational planning process is aimed, by analysing operations and container flow in the process of transportation of containers to other transprotation modes beginning from the ships’ coming near to the terminals. Consequently , the optimization of resource usage and by solving the problems about container terminals competence advantages can be generated.
