As one of the partners to the Institutional Development Program (IDP), the World Blind Union (WBU) extends a warm welcome to you to participate in this, our 6th IDP Africa Forum.
The WBU, which represents the needs and views of the estimated 285 million blind and partially sighted persons worldwide, believes that the IDP Africa Forum provides an outstanding opportunity for acquiring information and skills, for sharing expertise and for forging partnerships with others. As a founding member of the Vision Alliance and the International Disability Alliance, we firmly believe that we can all be stronger by sharing what we know and working together.
The IDP Africa Forum provides an opportunity for learning and sharing within a context that is unique to Africa. I really encourage you to take advantage of that opportunity to learn and share. I and other colleagues from the WBU will be at the Forum and we look forward to meeting you personally in Uganda.
