100 Taliban attack district office in Loi Karez. A 6-hr. battle erupts. troops of Gul Agha, Kandahar governor are then engaged, raid 3 houses in Nimakai village. Taliban withdrew to villages of Populzai and Hassanzai. 22 bodies of killed "Taliban' are later dumped at Killi Faizo refugee camp (photos exist). Taliban commander Hafiz Abdul Rahim said about 40 persons were killed.

U.S. troops attack a vehicle carrying Abdul Wali Khan (warlord Bacha Khan Zadran's son). Wali's bodyguard is killed and abducted Wali. US troops also shot-up a passing minivan injuring civilians and 9 yr-old Raz Mohammed who was sitting under a mulberry tree. Wali Khan was allegedly on his way to a meeting with US forces.
