ANTIGUA 1621 1876-82 "POSTAGE & REVENUE bars" opt QV 1d blue Stamp Duty. Postally used with "Antigua 12 FE 86" cds, plus part barred numeral oval pmk, some flts, VF appearance. Unlisted in SG with opt, Robson Lowe mentions the opt stamp stating that only 1 is known, this is thus the 2nd example found! Exact origin of opt is unknown but it is believed to be a genuine provisional, or an essay for a rejected opt issue etc, that got properly used on mail but was missed by early collectors, & thus never got SG listing. (P) $600 $1000 1625 AAT: 1984 South Magnetic Pole Expedition 30c, vert strip of 10, error blue almost totally OMITTED, so background looks white instead of blue on the upper 6 stamps, the lower 4 stamps being normal. VF MUH. SG 61(var). An important discovery that first came to light in 2004 from a retired PO employee.
