Listed below (whether abbreviated in form or not) are names of institutions that have appeared in previous editions of the Yearbook, for use after academic qualifications in staff entries. Commonwealth university abbreviations appear in Appendix 3. Appendix 4b lists abbreviations by country (excluding Commonwealth countries and the USA) and Appendix 4c lists US abbreviations by state.
