Generally, transfer students complete this via their admissions writing/English requirement of 2 writing courses.

There are, however, a few schools whose courses do not satisfy the entire lower-division writing requirement. In those cases, you must complete the courses at UCIrvine.

Upper division writing 1) must be completed with a grade of “C” or better and 2) must be taken at UCI.
