ISAT

Queries whose name begins with jisat. Many in this series are written with a series of hard coded academic plan numbers to make it easier for the users to get their data. ISAT plans do NOT follow a single academic org like other areas. Primary contacts are Kristen Snowden snowdenka@jmu.edu Fasha Strang strangfx@jmu.edu and the ISAT department head Section last updated 5/4/2018.

  1. jisat003 (TS): All ISAT students. Contains student identifiable data for all 16 ISAT plans which are hard coded within the criteria of this query.

  2. jisat004 (NTS): Biographical and plan summary for all 16 ISAT plans.

  3. jisat005 (TS): Class sched by term/crs/org. Written specifically for Fasha Strang who need a class schedule in a precise format for import into another system. Please do not modify the fields as she relies on the given format.

  4. jisat006 (TS): Course anal for Geog Science cloned from jlead001 for Zach Bortolot in ISAT.

  5. jisat007 (TS): Academic data by plan. cloned from jusds002a for Fasha Strang, but she does not have access to the record citizenship, so Martha Ringwald will run the query and provide her results.

  6. jisat011 (TS): IA200,261,280 analysis. Cloned from jisat010 for Kristin Sowden, advisor for ISAT. Needed to know which students were enrolled in the three courses IA200, 261 and 280 as they are supposed to be enrolled in all three at the same time, else they need to contact them.

  7. jisat011a (TS): Child courses. created to be used with a connected query and BIP report named jisat011 for Sowden, Kristin A -Do you remember the query we put together to see if students are taking IA 200, 261, and 280 together? JISAT11 I think it is. We now need to see if those students have taken statistics (either math 220, ISAT 251, or transfer credit for one of those courses, and the grade they made.) Would you happen to know the magical way to do this? It’s hard to describe how thankful I am for you ¿ I have no idea how I would do my job without all these shortcuts.

  8. jisat012 (TS): Geog Science catalog data. Cloned from jisat006 for Kristen Snowden. I have a query question I am hoping you can help with related to our Geographic Science students. The curriculum in GS has changed every year since 2007, and so students in each year require different classes. Is there a query or would you be able to look to see of our students in Geographic Science, what calendar year they came in during, and then what catalog year they declared in? Hopefully the numbers can help us figure out course offerings.

  9. jisat013 (TS): Geog230 course analysis. Cloned from jnurse005 for Kristin Sowden. My faculty want to know if the attached list of students have completed GEOG 215, GEOG 216, and a Stats classes (Math 220, ISAT 251 or COB 191) with at least a C. Any magical query ways to get them this data?

International Student Success

Queries whose name begins with jiss. Primary contacts are Jon Kratz kratzjx@jmu.edu and Hannah Dillenbeck dillenhe@jmu.edu who deals ONLY with TRN transfer international students. If a query below is suffixed with _TRN it is defined the same as the un-prefixed version, but has a hard coded value to only return transfer (admit type=TRN) students. In this context, international students are defined as those who have a visa permit type which begins with the letter J or F. Section last updated 4/26/2018.

  1. jiss001 (TS): International students w/holds. Prompts for a term. Returns a list of international students and the negative service indicators currently active.

  2. jiss002 (TS): International student grades. Prompts for a term and a grade type. Returns either mid term or final grades for international students.

  3. jiss003 (TS): International student courses. Prompts for a term and returns course enrollment data (aka schedules) for international students.

  4. jiss004 (TS): International student bio/demo. Prompts for a term and returns basic bio/demo data and program/plan data for international students.

  5. jiss005 (TS): International student courses. Has hard coded references to specific courses: ('IS202','WRIT100','WRIT103')

  6. jiss006 (TS): International student tests. Includes a term range, returns the following tests for international students: ('SAT1','SAT2','TOEFL')

  7. jiss007 (NTS): Historical intl stu test score. Wanted a list of test scores for international students. Needed the ability to look back in history so eliminated all references to stdnt_car_term.

  8. jiss008 (TS): Applied to graduate INTL stdnt. Prompts for a single expected graduation term. Returns those students in all careers who have applied to graduate for the provided term. Their visa permit type must begin with the letters F/J to be selected.

  9. jiss009 (TS): Intl took wrtc103 not wrtc100. Wanted a list of international students who had completed wrtc103 but not wrtc100

  10. jiss010 (TS): Intl compare mid term/final gr. Allows comparison of mid term to final grades for international students.

  11. jiss011 (TS): Intl stdnts not in good standing. Prompts for a term the international student was NOT in good standing (probation or suspension). This needs to be a term in the past due to the design of the query. It looks for the fact the student was not in good standing for the prompted term, and returns ALL terms in the future as well.

  12. jiss011a (TS): Intl stdnts PRO/SUS this term. Different that jiss011 in that it does not return future term data, only those international students not in good standing for the prompted for term.

  13. jiss012 (TS) : International address changes. Prompts for a term and a date range when the addresses of international students were changed.

  14. jiss012 (NTS): Historical Intl students. Should rarely if ever run. Contains no prompts. Returns basic bio/demo data for ALL students who ever attended JMU and are considered an international student. Was created to allow the office of international student success to collaborate data from University Advancement.

  15. jiss014 (TS): Intl student bio/demo retention. Prompts for a term range and literally turns the academic calendar clock back to the end date of the given term, then returns appropriate academic data for the given international students. All specs provided by Jonathan Kratz.

  16. jiss015 (NTS): SG Completers. Contains no prompts. Returns a list of students who have a stdnt_attr_dtl record which indicates they have completed the study group, and what their current program status is.

  17. jiss016 (TS): IS missing service indicators. The returned fields are identical to jiss004. Written for Jessica Hazlewood. F-1 and J-1 international students only who are missing a prompted for service indicator and service indicator reason. Their office places specific service indicators when an international student HAS paid an admin fee, secured proper insurance, etc.

  18. jiss017 (TS): status listing of int apps. Prompts for an admit type and admit term. Although a majority of the data returned by this query is considered “admissions data”, it also includes the students current academic program data so the user running the query can determine if the student is active in their career.

  19. jiss018 (NTS): International Student Report. Was specifically written to NOT be time sensitive, so user can run using any term and data is turned back to the term end date for all effective dated logic.
