Online and Blended Learning

Queries whose name begins with jobl. Primary contact is Doug Hearrington hearridb@jmu.edu Section last updated 2/9/2017.

  1. jobl00 (NTS): Grade anal by deliver mode. Contains a prompt for academic term and an optional prompt for course delivery modes listed below. The primary major degree field is from the students primary major as of the census date of the term entered. In the event multiple instructors are returned for the same course, it is because the department responsible for keying the course data entered multiple primary instructors which the query cannot resolve. Delivery modes to use:

    1. ID will return those courses tracked as 100% Internet Delivered. .

    2. HY will return those courses tracked as 51% or more online, aka hybrid courses

    3. IP will return those courses tracked as 100% in person

    4. MP will return those courses tracked as 51% or more in person

  2. jobl01 (NTS): Grade anal for matches. Similar to joe100. In this case a “match” is defined as a course (defined as the crse_id value) being offered for the prompted for term as BOTH a hybrid or internet delivered course AND the same course also being offered with a delivery mode-IP (100% in person).

  3. jobl02 (NTS): Not in online degrees. Prompts for a single term. Returns enrollment information for students enrolled in a 100% Internet Delivered (delivery mode=ID) course for the given term who is NOT active as of the census date in one of the x academic plan/programs considered to be online degree only. After research and confirmation from the office of the registrar, the plans included are below.

    1. ('9999992000','9999992125','9999999400','0007000050','0007000075','0007000110','0007000150','0007000210','0007000215','0007000220','0007000260','0007000500','0007000051','9999999600','9999999700','999999999','9999999999','9999991000','9999991100','9999991200','0054005000')

    2. OR these two acad_prog’s: GR125, GR130

    3. OR one of these subplans: ('00002260500','00002260600','00077000227')

  4. jobl02a (NTS): In online degrees. Is the inverse of joe102; these students ARE active as of the given census date in one of the listed academic plans/programs.

  5. Jobl02b (NTS) Baseline online population. contains no prompts built for the sole purpose of knowing a baseline population of those students active in the list of academic program, plans and sub-plans provided by the office of the registrar

  6. jobl03 (NTS): Online student demo. Prompts for a single term, returns basic student demographics for those enrolled in a course who delivery mode=ID (100% Internet Delivered). The address fields returned are for the addr_type=HOME.

  7. jobl04 (NTS): Learning activities data. Returns course enrollment details for the prompted for term whose instruction mode is any of the following hard coded values. *** note, the SA system does NOT track the locations of these various instruction modes.

    1. IN Independent Study

    2. IS Internship

    3. RA Research Abroad

    4. ST Special Training or Fieldwork

    5. SU Student Teaching

  8. jobl05 (TS): JMH contract data. Prompts for a single course term. The logic present includes:

    1. The baseline of this query is dependent upon each student being active as of the date the query is run in a student group=JMH.

    2. The student had to have matriculated in the given program stack of data on/after 6/1/2016. Because of this hard coded date, the query may need to be adjusted when run after the Spring 2017 term.

    3. The student is currently active in one of the following academic plan numbers: ('0000005950','0007000050','0007000051','0007000052','0007000210','0007000226','0007000176','0007000201','0007000225','0031500000','0007000215','0007000220','0007000260') OR active in the academic plan number 0039005000 and either sub-plan numbers ('0002260500','0002260600')

    4. Enrollment data is left outer joined to allow students to be returned even if they are not enrolled in any courses for the given term.

    5. This version of the query does not include data related to the employee tuition waivers as that data is on the item_sf record to which some users who need the results do not have access.

  9. jobl05b (TS): JMH contract AA only. The only difference from jobl05 is that this version contains the item_sf record which is used to return a Y/N if the student has a current employee tuition waiver defined by these three item type values: ('720000001600','720000001730','060000000000')

  10. jobl05c (TS): Not in proper plans. Contains no prompts, and should not return any rows. IF a row of data is returned, it is because the student is active in the student group=JMH, but their current program stack of data is not in line with the logic used in the jobl05 query.
