DIFFERENCE CHARACTERISTICS OF TRADITIONS OF NOVRUZ
IN AZERBAIJANI AND PERSIAN
Summary
The origin of the Novruz celebration was connected with the tillage calendar in the old period. In the VI century AD after appearing of Zoroastrianism religion the Novruz became the base celebration of the Zoroastrianism from the tillage ceremony and was connected with the cult of the Sun and the Flame.
The traditions of Novruz which is connected with the beginning of the astronomic year in the vernal equinox days, connects many nations of Central Asia and Middle East today, whose ancestors has been under influence of the culture of Zoroastrianism.
Also some traditions of Novrus are various many countries and provinces of that region in some or other extent. The history and distinguishing peculiarities of this old celebration between Azerbaijani and Persians is analyzed in this article.
