THE RİTHUAL-MYTHOLOGİCAL STRUCTURE OF THE EPOS “ALTAY BUUCHAY”
Summary
One of the characteristic features of the Altai epics is that they are in close connection with archaic and mythological thoughts. In this respect each element that forms the poetic structure of the epos texts posesses mythological semantics. The home image fulfills the center function in the mythological world model too.
The epos “Altay Buuchay” is closely connected with archaic-mythologic thoughts too. The epic hero and his son dies and returns to life again. Death and resurrection is connected with initation rithual . The hero dies while he is passing the rihual and ;eaves his home. In The resurrected hero in the new status must regain his home. So home is the center of the cosmos in the mythological world model. To appropriate home is the appropriate space.
