The character wolf in modern Azerbaijan poem
Summary
It is often met with the character wolf in an independence period Azerbaijan poetry. The wolf is the majestic character, direct transfering and characterizing from folklore. This character is well-known as “Bozgurd”(“The grey wolf”) in outlook of Turk mostly. Characterizing the wolf in modern poetry, the mythical thought, tales, fables, the eposes “The Book of Dede Gorgud” and “Ergenekon” take an important place.
The wolf distinguishes itself for boldness and bellicosity. Having a relation with the wolf Boz, considered the mythological ancestor of Turk, there are a lot of legends and tales in our folklore. The chacter wolf is also loved in modern Azerbaijan poetry.
In the article the pecularities of the character wolf we met in the poems of modern poets have been analysed.
