ENTRIES WILL CLOSE Friday 22 June 2018 at 5.00pm CST JUDGE Nancy Parkinson Austin Texas,(TICA) Nancy Parkinson was born in Houston, TX in the early 1940s. In 1948 her family moved to Venezuela where she spent her formative years. The family had a menagerie of pets, including several dogs, rabbits and birds but…no cats! After graduation from college Nancy got her first cat…a black and white moggy named Gasser. Gasser was the beginning of her love affair with cats. She got her first Siamese in 1966, a seal point named Hegel. Soon after, her first registered Siamese, a blue point named Geo-Jes Sybille joined Nancy’s cat family. Hegel and Sybille were the beginning of a passion for Siamese. Nancy began seriously breeding Siamese in 1981 under the cattery name of Fiesta. She registered her current cattery, Pzazz, in 1987 with her husband Bob, and bred her first litter of Oriental Shorthairs in 1989. A litter of Bengals in 1997…one of her favorite breeds…was a pleasant interlude to the Siamese and Orientals. Nancy was instrumental in getting the Peterbald accepted as a recognized breed in TICA. She has owned and showed Persians. Nancy is a licensed Distinguished Allbreed Judge and a ring and school instructor for The International Cat Association (TICA). She has served as Clerking Program Administrator, Deputy Judging Program Administrator, Chair of the TICA Rules Committee and as Vice-President. Nancy has been judging since 1986 and loves every minute of it. It is always a thrill to be able to handle so many beautiful cats. She was honored to be selected as TICA Judge of the Year in 2003. Nancy currently lives in Austin, Texas with her two cats, Laredo, an Oriental Shorthair, and Jimmy, a very special moggy. When Nancy is not busy with cat things, she enjoys gardening…there is something very therapeutic about digging in the dirt! She also enjoys cooking, listening to classical music and jazz. And, she loves to travel!
