3.6.1 Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of AICTE held two meetings during the year 2007-2008, on the following dates:

56^th Executive Committee Meeting : August 16, 2007

57^th Executive Committee Meeting : March 24, 2008

Some of the important decisions taken by Executive Committee in these meetings are as under:

56^th August 16, 2007	Submission of Application Form for obtaining the approval of AICTE for Degree Level Programmes / Institutions	The Executive Committee, after detailed deliberations, decided that the applicant shall send their application directly to the affiliating University and the State Government either in person or through Speed / Registered Post. Two copies of the application shall be submitted to the Regional Office along with a proof of having submitted a copy of the application, each to the affiliating University and State Government. Letter of Approval (LOA) issued in respect of completed applications received up to December 31, which have fulfilled all norms and standards of the Council for establishment of a new institution shall be valid for two academic years including the following academic year for obtaining affiliation with the concerned University & fulfilling concerned State Government requirements for admission. The Letter of Approval issued for the applications received after December 31 shall not be valid for the following academic year but valid only for next Two Academic years.
57^th March 24, 2008	To consider the minimum qualification for admission to the 4 year Engineering course in Biotechnology	The Executive Committee approved the proposal as follows: Qualification for admission in Degree Engineering course in Bio-Technology: Should be a pass in 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics or Biology as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects: Chemistry Bio-Technology Computer Science
