The Board deliberated on the desirability of starting M.Tech Programme with emphasis on Technological Education like M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering Education for the teachers working in technical institutions during their vacation and it was accepted in principle. The details of the programme like modules, framework and credits would be worked out by a sub-committee and the nomenclature of the programme would be ‘MS programme approved by AICTE’, further it was decided that those institutes whose Masters Programme in Engineering and Technology were accredited by the AICTE may be permitted to start the above mentioned MS Programme.
A sub-committee would be formed by the Chairman of the AIB-PGER and it will deliberate in detail and finalise the course requirements of Integrated M.Tech Programme and Integrated Ph.D Programme.
A task force was constituted to give a report on the norms & infrastructure requirements of Postgraduate Laboratories.

The Board accepted the Model Framework for UG curriculum in Engineering & Technology giving details of credits and their distribution into semesters and subject areas.
The following minimum qualification for admission to the 4-year Biotechnology was recommended by the Board.
“should be a pass in 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics or Biology as a compulsory subject along with one of the following subjects : “Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Mathematics”
It was also suggested that the Universities should consider introducing suitable courses that supplement either Mathematics or Biology for students in Biotechnology based on the over all syllabus of the University
