TRIGEMINAL NEURITIS

Neuritis is caused by traumas, inflammatory processes and nerve root compression.

Trigeminal neuritis leads to sensory losses, the weakening of reflexes, and disrupts the conduction of neural excitation in the areas innervated by damaged nerve branch. Neuritis is differentiated from trigeminal neuralgia. With the neuritis, the pain is diffused, dull, and radiates to other areas. The pain has an ongoing nature, while it increases gradually as the force of compression acting on the nerve tract increases.
The efficacy of the treatment depends on the elimination of the underlying cause of the pathology. The vitaminotherapy should be accompanied by trigeminosympathetic procaine block and physiotherapy.


GLOSSALGIA

The characteristic feature of glossalgia is a change in the tongue sensitivity, namely, its increase.

Clinical manifestation: the patients complain of the pain on the tip or edges of the tongue. The sensation is usually not acute, though long lasting. The disease is caused by the disorders of the digestive tract and pelvic organs. In some cases glossalgia may be developed as a result of liver, biliary tract diseases, helminthic invasion, and climax.
Local factors also may lead to the onset of glossalgia. For example, sharp edges of teeth, chronic traumas, dental prosthesis of inferior quality. Ila törədilən zədalar.
The treatment involves the elimination of the underlying causes of chronic tongue traumas, or the substitution of low quality tooth caps (steel or gold caps, amalgamate dental filling). The patients with glossalgia often experience cancerophobia, which in turn subjects them to an even greater stress.
