3.3 POPULATION OF THE STUDY
The key informants or participants that were involved in this study were school leaders, teachers 
and students. A total of three school management members and six teachers individually 
interviewed purposively. These individuals have exposure to different experiences of the school. 
The school management and teachers are also more exposed to follow the student‘s practice day 
today in the classroom and outside the classrooms to triangulate the data gathered by this study 
tools. Hence; the student‘s grade level were checked by the school management or their 
Identification card (ID). Schools, which comprise twelve students from each school from grade 
level (grade nine and ten). A total of 120 students and threat six teachers were involved in this 
study. Field notes (writing notes) were used to gathered, the field note was also helpful to 
remind issues discussed with the informants. 
3.4 Sampling Techniques 
3.4.1. Sampling Techniques 
Fitche Town secondary schools were selected purposively for this study representativeness of 
diversity. As the researcher was mentioned in the previous chapters, the Fitche Town is 
identified by both urban and rural life style. This result in to access the diversity dimensions 
including linguistics, religious and culture, ethnics group diversity. In addition to these, the 
researcher is living and working in this Town in the past long years.
The exposure helps the issue of diversity and the researcher can explore diversity management in 
government secondary schools in students learning process introspectively. In addition to the 
selection of the place of the study, linguistic, religion culture and ethnic diversity is selected for 
the purpose of this study purposively because of proper management of the study and by 
expecting other diversity dimensions through and within these aspects. As different scholars
states that diversity dimensions have no clear agreement globally yet. So, this study is selected 
these four dimensions to asses diversity related with these issues. The participants in this study

also selected purposively by expecting more exposure on the issue of managing diversity and 
experience on the issues. The selected participants are civics and ethical education, health and 
physical education teachers and students who has identified role like classroom monitors, clubs 
leaders, student and council members were involved in this study by expecting ideas from their 
experience in the schools. Moreover, the school leaders and the secondary schools are taken 
directly. In addition to these, most of the students were fire stage and they were under the 
influence of the new biological change. Therefore, managing diversity in this stage of transition 
for preparatory education becomes essential.
