Studiengänge in deutscher Sprache:


An den Fakultäten für Bauwesen, für Elektrotechnik und Informatik, für Maschinenbau und für Verkehrswesen gibt es in den ersten 4 Semestern deutschsprachige Ingenieurausbildung im Rahmen eines gemeinsamen Programmes mit der Universität Karlsruhe.

Im 5. Semester studieren die Studenten an der Universität Karlsruhe und ab dem 6. Semester wieder an der TWU Budapest in ungarischer Sprache.

Einige Fächer werden aber weiterhin in deutscher Sprache angeboten.

Die Absolventen erhalten zweisprachige Diplomurkunden mit den Unterschriften der Rektoren beider Universitäten.

Preparatory courses:

  • Basic Medicine (1 year pre-medical course, recommended for those who do not have a thorough enough knowledge of biology, physics and chemistry or in any of the subjects according to Hungarian standards)

  • The Debrecen Summer School is an independent institution of the University of Debrecen that is concerned with teaching Hungarian as a foreign language. Its aim is to provide its students with a thorough knowledge of both the Hungarian language and its culture. Unique among Hungary’s similar language institutions, this summer school draws upon a great and long tradition. It was established in 1927 and has grown to become the biggest of the Hungarian summer schools. Every year more than 600 students from 30-40 countries are taught by 50 teachers. There are two dates available for applying and taking the entrance examination: the early and the late exam dates, with the following time schedule:

In both cases, when the application material is received the applicants will soon be informed about the exact time and place of the entrance examination, and are given feedback about the results very soon after the entrance exam.



There is the possibility of applying twice (with double application, registration and entrance fees) for the same academic year, thus doubling the chance of a successful entrance examination.

Applicants are expected to present the documentation of their appropriate schooling or degree. Successful applicants must have a good command of English and pass the psychology entrance examination.

Prospective students (non-doctoral) need to send the completed application form and the necessary documents to The Dean’s and Educational Office, Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, or to College International (check the addresses on the application form). Once the completed form has been received, the student will be informed about the details of the examination.

The Academic Year consists of two semesters, the autumn semester begins in September, and the spring semester in February. Freshmen always begin their studies in the Fall semester.
