Library: The library has a total book stock of about 70,000 volumes, its reference room subscribes to 480 journals, of which over 100 are in a foreign language. The PhD programme in Animal Sciences involves the following main topics:



  • poultry and small animal science

  • animal production based on grazing

  • monogastric and ruminant nutrition

  • pig science

  • non-invasive digital imaging methods in animal science

Doctoral (PhD) School in Economic Sciences

The PhD programme of the Economics PhD School contains the following main topics:



  • economic study of applicability of renewable resources in the agriculture,

  • study of economic relations between rural and regional development,

  • production of up-to-date foods of animal origin, analysis of economic and market relation systems in food production,

  • analysis of profitability and international competitiveness of products of animal origin, with special respect to EU harmonisation.

Library: Founded in 1875. The collection originates from the scores and notes presented by F. Liszt, which he started to bring home in 1873. Later it widened with his inheritance. At present: about 300,000 scores and notes, 60,000 books, 200 periodicals, 30,000 CD-s. Collection of rarities: critical editions, complete works/editions (significant ones, some being unique copies in the country). Open 55 hours per week, lending services for 44 hours.

Accommodation: Private apartment rentals are available for international students at a moderate cost in different parts of the city. Costs of accommodation: EUR 300-600/month.
