This is an awesome WebPage! I went to Frankfurt Elementary, Junior High and High School ...from 5th grade to the end of my Sophomore Year. I graduated in Virginia in 1982. Jez!!! Was there from 75 ta 77 (That's why I graduated in 78!). Left a whole bunch of brains cells at da stones, among other places. Met the local CID out by the stones once, that was the day from hell! Jeus and Jose I bet you remember! Loved to sit out by the little church and watch the day go by. By the way, did anyone else ever see the little chess men walk by?? Had a running buddy, Lemual Edwards, where ever you are I hope live is treating you well! I spent many hours and brain cells in Gruneberg Park, and I can safely say that at least the hours spent there remain in my head. I could hardly believe it when I came upon this site, and saw the hole in the wall, the stones, and all the old memories came in like a tidal wave of emotion. I read the entire guestbook and found quite a few names that I recognize, ESPECIALLY TONY BENEDICT AND AMY!!! You guys finally hooked up for good huh? I knew you would. OK, now it's time for the unveiling---Cindy Wilson. Tony, we used to hang out quite a bit, and Amy, you are the one who influenced me to become a vegetarian. We went camping (in the snow)in the Taunus Mountains together, Tony, remember me and Sherri Wilke came over to your place in Edwards all messed up one morning, I still remember your posters from "Wizards". Anyway, Gruneberg Park was THE PLACE TO BE in the spring and especially the summer. Anyone out there who remembers me PLEASE PLEASE drop me a line, and especially anyone who knows how to get a hold of Patrice Medrow (Good) or TK Ross. Geez, it's good to be home!!

What a kick! Doing some internet research on the Turkish

military, come across a link for military brats, and end up here.
I attended FAHS from '69 to '72 and yes, I'm getting to an age where I'm curious as to what happened:
1. to the DP's that attended FAHS around '72 (and those of

us that skipped class to run down to KaiserStrasse for some

wide-eyed fun, met at Kurt's for a beer on Fridays, or went to the Zoom Club.
2. to the teachers (Minette, Martin, etc) that taught then.
3. to the DP's that lived in the Hanau/Pioneer Kaserne area.
4. to the Baader-Meinhof gang (that kept life exciting for us).
I fondly (and ruefully, considering how hard I had to work to make up all the fun times/wasted brain cells and school work) remember G-park though I remember it having another name, something along the lines of S**t park.
Kudos for having this site up.

Matt you have done an awesome job. Found this site an all I could keep saying was OH MY GOD this was just unreal. I forgot what the park looked like and it has all come back to me, remember drinking boots, and sunrises at Als, and how may times did LOVE HURTS play on that damn juke box? Used to live also in Edwards Housing by the softball fields. I graduated in 77 and have always wondered if such a site existed for us military brats with no place to call home. I do remember some very good times, it is amazing that any of remember anything. Married now and married a cop if you can believe that, have two children girls, 16 and 12. You are a wonderful person to have put these pictures out it is just awesome. I hope to be able to make it to the reunion, but work, may not permit. Frankfurt uber alles, noch ein beer!!!

I was so excited to find this site and the site for Frankfurt American High School!! I attended Frankfurt High School 1958-1959 as a freshman. Ok WOW! what a headrush, going down old memory lane in the park , I was looking thru the military brat site and found this! My name in school was tina Birkes or hofert , my 3 brothers went to school there also , Tom Birkes class of 80, lived down the street from the cook brothers in Edwards !

I went out with John corbin, class of 76 for 2 years, does anyone know what happen to him? Also looking for my best bud in school Ruth Ann Young class of 78? After school stayed in Frankfurt , worked at the Abrams Bldg. Tony Vancheieri also worked there at the same time in the mail room, i met my husband in 85 , we got married in 86 stayed there until stationed at Ft. Polk and we finally went back to Germany in 93 (wuerzburg) so i did go back to the park many times when visting my oma, left in 97 , now retied (husband ) 20 yrs army living in texas , plan to go back next year to visit with my family and friends, yes i will even visit with ernest Joyner !
