Abstract. There is a whole family of ideologies which share freedom as their most important value. Presenting these ideologies, with their differences and their common assumptions, will give us a better means of critically analysing them. Relying on the ideas of thikers such as Ludwig von Mises, Isaiah Berlin, Ayn Rand and others, I draw a squetch of the methapysics and ontology of freedom, its conditions of possibility and its most important institutions.
Ce este libertatea? În ce cred de fapt cei ce cred că libertatea e o valoare fundamentală? Cum poate fi ea promovată? Răspunsul la aceste întrebări va oferi o imagine a trunchiului ideologic comun pe care îl împărtăşesc toţi cei ce cred în libertate, fie că sunt liberali, libertarieni, anarhişti sau de alte orientări.
