Hen. VI. 1433. Richard Neville Earl of Salisbury
was beheaded at Pontefract after the battle- of
Wakefield, fought 30 Dec. 1460. In 1441 Tho.
Radcliffe, mil. was his deputy. A warrant was
addressed to him by the King 1 Mar. 18 Edw. IV.
1479, as Steward of oure Forestes of Quernemore,
Wyresdale, Blesdale, Mirescogh, Fulwode, Pen-
hull, Trawden, Rossendale and Acrington, desiring
that he would cause the officers of the courts and
swainmotcs to make livery of the estreats, 11 and
12 Edw. IV. 1471-72. (Min. Accounts.)
Thomas Lord Stanley occurs as Master Forester of
Blackburnshire, 1 and 2 Ric. III. 1483-4. (Re-
ceivers' Accounts.)
