6.5.1.4.Emergency Procedures An Emergency Preparedness Plan (also referred to as a Disaster Management Plan) should be developed for all such components (such as dams) and facilities failure (or malfunction) of which could cause
danger to human life
substantial property damage
loss of production, and
disruption to other community activities The plan should include
emergency depots with stockpiles of materials for rapid repairs
procurement of labour and equipment from some agencies, and
guidelines/instructions to meet situation such as excessive rainfall, blockage or malfunctioning of gates, breaches or overtopping of banks/flood embankments, obstruction of drainage etc.
