LAYLAES SAYING AS BAYATI
Summary
Once upon a time laylaes – part of the all-turkish folklore widely spread in Azerbaijan folklore. Laylaes are very important growing up of children in the national spirit. The Azerbaijani laylaes expressed in different ways, but some part of them are in the form of bayati.
Genres of children folklore azizlama and oxshama also performed in bayati form.
Some part of laylaes are changing functional, some laylaes we can say as azizlama and oxshama. Sometimes this process is developing the opposite. In some places oxshama and azizlama are performed as bayati.
Symbolism of laylaes performing as bayati are interesting.
We faced existence of laylaes saying in form sijillama and some laylaes with plot in our regions. We have witnessed that, in some our regions in the cradle religious sayings replaces laylaes.
People often say their own destiny in laylaes. So we feel sorrow, grief in many laylaes. There is even a breed native land, motherland nostalgia in laylaes. This type of laylaes we find in the repertoire of people became refugees from West Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding areas as a result of the armenian aggression. We feel humor in some laylaes. Typically, these laylaes we heard from unusual women having a sense of humor.
Laylaes are not saying only in the cradle. We are faced with laylaes at the funeral, too. These laylaes are different from laylaes saying in the cradle. In mourning ceremonies participants are ending mourning sayings with laylaes. It belongs to aghies saying in form sinkretik parallels and in form bayati.
Aghies are performing by women, usually. But we met some men aghies performers. If we compare, men performers activity work is poor than womens. All grandmothers and mothers said layla in the cradle till 70-80 years of the last century. But now unfortunately, there are few women who can say layla.
