SOUL IN THE BELIEFS TURKIC AND MONGOLIAN PEOPLE
Summary
Beliefs and view of Turkic connected with soul were analyzed. Soul is considered as the main value and connecting link of all three worlds. All ceremonies and rituals are concentrated around it. There are two important transitional period in the life of the human beings: birth and death. These two stages consist of beliefs, customs, spiritual and mystical items. This study investigated the transitional periods such as the birth and the death of the protagonists in folktales which belong to turkish people. Many beliefs and traditions which come from past to present and which belong to the period before islam, have kept living in our traditions. The beliefs and practices of Turkish people contain the overtones of historical culture.
