Unidirectional carbon fibre reinforced polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) composites was manufactured with inline continuous atmospheric plasma fluorination (APF). Laminated composites were mechanically tested and results show significant improvement in interface dominated properties as a result of the introduction of fluorine functionalities to the surface of the reinforcing fibre.
