Indigenous fishers It was noted during a jurisdiction consultation session that there were concerns in the seafood industry that Indigenous fishers may be entitled to higher bag limits than recreational fishers, and that they may then be engaging in trade or exchange with other groups.
It was clarified that should Indigenous fishers be engaging in trade with other groups, this would be considered selling and therefore would be covered as retail under the Code. The primary production standards apply up to the start of retail.
