Draft variations to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code
To commence: 12 months from gazettal Note on commencement: Subclause 1(2) of Standard 1.1.1 applies to these amendments to the Food Standards Code. The effect of this subclause is that a food is taken to comply with Standard 4.2.1 (below) for a period of 12 months after the commencement of the Standard, provided the food otherwise complied with the Food Standards Code. This means that seafood producers have 2 years from the gazettal of Standard 4.2.1 before they are required to comply with the new requirements.
