Sims, Barker, Price a Fornells-Ambrojo (2015) zkoumali dopad vyplnění dotazníku pro identifikaci silných stránek charakteru, nazvaném Values In Action Inventory of Strengths (VIA-IS) u osob s FEP (n=29). Hypotézou bylo, že identifikace silných stránek zvýší sebevědomí, sebe-účinnost a pozitivní afekt tím, že zaměří pozornost k pozitivním atributům self a rozvine „alternativní“ reprezentace self, které mohou soutěžit se stávajícími negativními sebe-konstrukty. Druhou hypotézou pak bylo, že zlepšení pozitivního afektu povede ke zlepšení kognitivního výkonu.

Výsledek: Bylo zaznamenáno zlepšení v pozitivním afektu a kognitivním výkonu. Sebevědomí ani sebe-účinnost se nezlepšily.
