Doehle Danautic India welcomes Sabyasachi Hajara as Chief Advisor
Mr Hajara to join stellar DDI team
Doehle Danautic India (DDI) has announced the induction in to their board of Sabyasachi Hajara, the former Chairman of SCI, who will join as Chief Advisor and mentor to Daniel Chopra effective January 2014.
As Chief Advisor, Mr Hajara will help propel DDIs overall growth strategy and will provide guidance on mergers & acquisitions, financial planning, budgeting, investor relations, corporate secretarial functions and fiscal management policies of the company.
Commenting on the appointment Mr. Chopra said, “I am delighted to have the opportunity of welcoming Mr. Hajara to the Board of Directors. He is a highly accomplished professional and has achieved unprecedented success with the organizations he has worked with. I am very confident that with his vast experience and knowledge DDI will continue to develop successfully for years to come”.
On his induction into DDI, Mr Hajara commented, “I have known Daniel since he started Danautic Ship Management Company in 2001. With this appointment DDI looks forward to start the year 2014 with a strong leadership team that will take the company to the next level of growth and expansion. The former SCI Chairman comes with rich experience in various aspects of shipping. He has been a member of a number of Indian delegations at the Council and Assembly meetings of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). He has had the honour of being the only person in independent India in the Indian shipping industry to have held the most important post of the President of the Indian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA) for 5 years in a row.
Mr Hajara has been associated with a host of Management and Industry Associations throughout his illustrious career, like the CII National Committee on Shipping for the last seven years, the Vice-President and Director of the International Shipping Federation, member on the Board of Governors of the World Maritime University, and a member of the Managing Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
