Determination of Suitable Training Shape and Height Trunk for Karaerik Grape Cultivar (1. Stage)
In this research aimed to determine suitable training shape and height trunk for Karaerik grape cultivar. Wired training systems which have many advantages according to local cultivation techniques in terms of disease, harmful and production systems are not yet applied in Erzincan vineyards. Viniculture is done in the BARAN system which is a local breeding technique In Erzincan province. This situation have causes serious distress in terms of quality and quantity. For this reason, it has became a necessity explain of modern breeding techniques to our farmers Project Works was planned in two stages. The experiment was conducted based on complete randomized block design with four replicates (2x3 m planting distance) in the Bahçeliköy location of Erzincan Horticultural Research Institute. The first phase of the Project was planned to be completed in 2010, but the vineyards had been damaged due to the extreme winter frosts of 2007-2008. Since the training system was to be rebuilt, the first phase was extended for two years, in the first phase of Project, Three different (75, 100 and 125 cm) trunk height, two different support system (Wall and Y) and bilateral cordon was used. The manufacture phase of the training system has been completed with the works done in 2006-2011.
The second phase of the project (between 2012-2015 year), the effects of (75, 100 and 125 cm) trunk height and two different support system (Wall and Y) on yield and quality will be determined on vineyards
