Article 7

Requirements for the habilitation procedure at the Brno University of Technology
1. The habilitation procedure is defined in Article 72, subsection 9 of the Act and comprises

the habilitation paper, defence of the habilitation thesis, debate, voting and releasing of

information.
2. The habilitation procedure at a meeting of the Scientific Board comprises:

   election of vote-counters election
   
2. 
   presentation of the applicant by the Dean of an authorised Vice-Dean
   
3. 
   habilitation paper (presentation and debate)
   
4. 
   introductory presentation to the defence of the habilitation thesis
   
5. 
   presentation of opponents´ review and debate
   
6. 
   applicant´s response and comments
   
7. 
   presentation of the proposal of the Habilitation Board with substantiation
   
8. 
   debate on the habilitation thesis, its presentation, and its position in the context of the wordlwide development and achievements at the Brno University of Technology in the pertinent field
   
9. 
   closed debate in the Scientific Board of the faculty
   
10. 
    voting by ballot on the proposal in the Scientific Board of the faculty
    
11. 
    report of vote-counters and formulation of the resolution
    
12. 
    release of information on the results of the habilitation procedure immediately after the meeting of the Scientific Board
    

3.The proposal in writing of the Habilitation Board presented in the Scientific Board, containing a recommendation on granting or not granting the title of associate professor – docent, the date and time of procedure, the number of members present, the result of voting and substantiation of the proposal, and comments to the topic of the paper, signed by the voting members, constitutes an amendment to the minutes of the Scientific Board meeting.

Article 8

Proposal for the appointment of an associate professor by the Rector.
1.On behalf of the Scientific Board the Dean submits the proposal on appointment of a

professor to the Rector. The Rector shall decide within 30 days after the meeting of the Scientific Board of the faculty.

C. The proposal shall contain the Dean´s proposal with substantiation, extract from the minutes of the meeting of the Scientific Board of the faculty, opponents´ reviews, proposal of the Habilitation Board with substantiation (as per Article 7, clause 3) and documents as per Article 2 of this Regulation.

D.Should the proposal submitted by the Dean to the Rector fail to comply with the

pertaining stipulations of the Act, the Rector shall return the proposal to the Dean.

E. Should the Rector not agree with the proposal on appointment of an associate professor – docent, he shall submit his substantiation at the nearest meeting of the Scientific Board of the university, as a rule, and at the nearest meeting of the Board after 60 days have passed since the submission of the proposal at the latest.
