UK Government Policy on the UK Clean Coal Technology Program (ECCT Program)
Government policy is aimed at supporting the development of clean coal technologies and their application both domestically and abroad . For this there are the following prerequisites:
Since the 19th century, the UK has been at the forefront of coal technology development and has accumulated a wealth of experience in this area. UK government and industry are focusing on developing more efficient and cleaner coal technologies (ECCTs). Thus, at a time when there has been a significant increase in attention to reducing the negative environmental impacts of all types of fossil fuel production, the UK can offer a wealth of experience and technology in the field of ECTI. The UK Department of Trade and Industry's Clean Coal Technology Program supports research and development, technology transfer and dissemination of expertise in the ECTI sector and is interested in increasing international cooperation.
Future Energy Solutions (FES), part of AEA Technology Plc , under the Department of Trade and Industry's ( DTI's) Clean Fossil Fuels Program Cleaner Fossil Fuels Programme ) is organizing a trade mission to Russia (Moscow and Kemerovo) to showcase the full range of UK opportunities in clean coal technologies and related sectors. The main goal of the mission is to promote British experience and technology. At the same time, the mission provides an opportunity for UK companies to get acquainted and establish long-term contacts in Russia with the structures responsible for decision-making in this industry. It will also create an enabling environment for technology transfer to the UK by encouraging collaboration in research and development to develop advanced technologies.
