Week 5 road to global citizenship toolbook-1

Consider how you choose to draw boundaries between your personal and professional selves in the
classroom. Fostering global citizenship does not necessarily mean sharing everything about yourself
with your students, and all teachers draw their boundaries differently. At the same time, reflecting
on who your students know you to be will help you determine whether you are serving as a role
model as a global citizen.

Exercises
Think about your motivations for considering how to foster and model global citizenship through
your teaching. Try answering these questions:
