6 Read and match. Then choose the words.

Read the first sentence aloud and give students time to 
find the matching picture. Ask volunteers to read the rest 
of the sentences and explain the meaning of any new 
words (e.g., 
buy
). Students work individually to match the 
sentences and pictures, then circle the correct pronoun. 
Circulate and help.

Elicit the matching sentences, pictures, and pronouns, 
then practice the language by asking, e.g.,
