 Be resourceful.
• 
Read the value with the class: 
Be resourceful
. Explain 
the meaning. Then ask 
Are the children resourceful in 
the story? How? 
(
They don’t have tents, so they use 
blankets.
)
• 
Encourage students to think about why it’s important to 
be resourceful: 
Sometimes you don’t have everything you 
need, and you have to think of different things to use. 
It’s good to use your imagination/think about a problem 
in different ways so you can solve it.
• 
Then ask students to think of times when they or 
members of their family have been resourceful.
They tell the class.

Read the story again. Correct the mistakes and 
then number.
• 
Students cross out the mistake in each sentence and write 
the correct word. They then number the sentences in the 
correct order, referring back to the story if necessary.
