to repeat. Elicit/explain that the four things tell us how
people worked (the tools), what people believed (the
statue), what they wore (the jewelry), and what they did
in their free time (the board game).

If you don’t have the video, show photographs of
primary sources, if possible from leaflets or the website
of a museum in your students’ country/region.

If you have a few photographs, show them to the
class and ask pairs to answer/guess the answer to the
following questions for each object:
What’s it? Where does it come from? What’s it made of? What does it tell us about life in the past? •
If you have enough photographs, distribute them
around for students to work in pairs/small groups. They
then present their ideas to the class. Make sure you
have information about the objects so you can confirm/
expand on students’ answers.
