ABSTRACT
STUDIES ON COMPOST PRODUCTION AND USING IN AGRICULTURE
Organik matter contents of our country’s agriculture soils have shown properties that is very low in 65.25%, medium in 22.62% and high to very high in 12.13% (Eyüboğlu, 1999). To date, the most important factor of limiting our agricultural production is organic matter content of agricultural soils. For this reason, the necessity of using organic fertilizer such as manure compost and green manure is highly demanded.
In the ecological growing, necessity of using organic source as a plant nutrition materials increases importance of organic fertilizers in order to protect and sustain natural productivity of soils. However, high price and insufficient amount of manure are the limiting factors of using manure in agricultural productivity. In this reason, compost and green manure is not used commonly.
There are a lot of research on obtaining and using of compost in agriculture. Researches show that compost could be easily take place of manure in terms of composition or effects to the soils and plants.
The aim this study is of help to arrange of present research results and spread the use of compost.
