Technology-driven models in modern agriculture separated human, nature and social interactions; ended social breakdawn of communities, unsustainable use of naturel resources, consequently ecosystem distortions. This has created renewed interest in ecological aspects of agricultural production. Ecologicaly sensitive approach implies what agricultural systems means as a whole, while designing and developing site-appropriate practises. In this parallel, since the second half of the 1980’s, steps have been taken in our countries’ agricultural practises within and understanding of ecologically oriented holistic approach as well.
In this study, it is intended to explain individuals, groups and organisations whose effort is creating innovative way of practising agriculture which has been ecologicaly sound, economically viable, socially justifiable and practically applicable. Contrasting examples, such as precision farming and low input agriculture, have been given to provide alternative diversities for site-specific solutions. A model has been developed to show clearly intricate and interacting relationships among the main concerns under agricultural systems and the rest of it.
It is expected many concepts and methods ,given as possible, may contribute agricultural researchers, extentionists and practitioners for regenerating agriculture.
