Trusted legal and business adviser of well-known Austrian investors in the energy and real estate sectors. Supporting my clients in establishing a successful business case in the renewable energy market in South and Southeast Europe. Through advising on a variety of matters on a daily basis including legal analyses, acquisition arrangements, EPC and construction agreements and management of photovoltaic power plant projects I have further developed my understanding of the practical and commercial issues specific to the sector.
As part of the management process I have structured the deals for acquisition, financing and development of PV projects in Bulgaria and supported the sale of a pipeline of fully operational power plants in Italy.
Active participation in the market rewarded me with the trust of the industrial associations in the energy sector and I am regularly assisting the Bulgarian Wind Energy Association and the Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association in their balancing role in the implementation of the European legislation in the renewable energy field and active communication with the Government.

Heading the M&A and Energy Practices of the Sofia Office I had the unique opportunity to lead excellent legal teams that have introduced international professional standards to the sector. I have established effective communication channels with foreign and local investors and proactively managed the risks in commercial negotiations. In the process of preparation of transaction documents (term sheets, financial contracts, share and asset purchase agreements) I successfully devised pragmatic solutions to the challenges of the deals. I have acquired significant experience in protection of investments and business oriented advice on on-going activities and development of new fields.
With the opening of the Bulgarian energy market after 2007 I have specialised in the traditional and renewable energy sectors through development of new ventures and acquisition of existing power plants. Provided consultations covering regulatory and compliance requirements, energy specific agreements, production and trading licensing and coordination with the competent institutions.
I had the opportunity to advise the Bulgarian Government on the strategy for amendment and development of the domestic legislation to implement the principles and rules of the EU Third Energy Package with focus on the unbundling of the system for supply and transfer of natural gas.
Advised Austrian investors with respect to their investments in the telecommunications sector.
Acted as local legal counsel to Herbert Smith Freehils in ICC arbitration cases concerning the Bulgarian Telecommunication Company.
Acted as the regional legal adviser of pharmaceutical companies (both local and international). Led the team advising and structuring locally the intended acquisition of the entire network of subsidiaries of one of the leading European pharmaceutical distributors.
