INTRODUCTION

The languages in which ITU publications are issued are indicated as follows: F for French, E for English, S for Spanish, R for Russian, C for Chinese and A for Arabic. ISBN numbers (in italics) are indicated for those publications to which they have been allotted (in the order F, E, S, R, C and A where applicable).

Publications on diskette

Publications on diskette are for IBM PC AT or compatible computers with MS-DOS version 3.1 or higher. You will need either a 3.5 inch or 5.25 inch high-density diskette drive.

Publications on CD-ROM

Publications on CD-ROM will operate using any standard CD-ROM disc drive (ISO 9660 compatible), interfaced with an IBM PC AT or compatible computer. They require a minimum of 640 kBytes RAM, a hard disk drive. Monochrome or colour monitors can be used, as can any compatible printer. You will also need Microsoft’s MS-DOS CD-ROM extension package, which allows the computer to communicate with the CD-ROM drive, and DOS version 3.1 or higher.

Publications on-line

Some publications are available in their most up-to-date form as an on-line service via TIES (ITU’s Telecom Information Exchange Service). Access to TIES requires a personal computer with a modem and appropriate communications software. For more detailed information about TIES please contact:

The prices quoted are effective from 1st June 1994 and may subsequently be changed. They include the cost of packing and postage. Dispatch is normally by surface mail. However, on request publications will be sent by airmail or by air freight, at the purchaser’s expense.

CONDITIONS OF SALE

Since all orders are payable in advance, amounts due should be sent in Swiss francs at the same time as the order.

As the General Secretariat of the Union sells its publications on a non-profit and non-discount basis, no reduction can be made to booksellers.

Payment may be made:

1. Switzerland: to the postal cheque account of the ITU, Geneva 12-50-3.

2. All other countries: by a) international postal order, b) UNESCO coupon, c) bank transfer to the Swiss Bank Corporation, Geneva, Account No. C8-765,565.0

(Payment may also be effected by a cheque made out in another currency freely convertible into Swiss francs provided that the cheque, when cashed and converted, will cover the price of the publications in Swiss francs.)

3. Major credit cards – EUROCARD-MASTERCARD, VISA and AMERICAN EXPRESS – are acceptable methods of payment.

4. The ITU does not accept Letters of Credit.

5. IMPORTANT: The ITU does not accept standing orders.
