PRS Guitars and IMSA Partner for Sixth Consecutive Year

(Stevensville, MD) February 11th, 2015 – PRS Guitars has again stepped up to the challenge of celebrating race winners in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship by announcing the new 2015 PRS IMSA trophy guitar.

This will mark the sixth consecutive year that the Stevensville, Maryland guitar and amplifier manufacturer founded by Paul Reed Smith has supplied fully-functional trophy guitars for sports car race winners in the series sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). IMSA and PRS Guitars are in the second year of a multi-year agreement.

The 2015 PRS SE Singlecut IMSA Trophy Guitar features the IMSA logo accented with racing stripes on a striking Gray Black finish, an asymmetrical bevel cut, singlecut figured maple top with a flame maple veneer and mahogany back, a 22-fret mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and PRS signature bird inlays, PRS-designed SE treble and bass humbucking pickups and a three way toggle pickup selector.

PRS SE Singlecut IMSA Trophy Guitars are exclusively made for TUDOR Championship race winners. A limited number of replica trophy guitars will be available for IMSA fans through the IMSA.com store.

“PRS Guitars has become a valuable and very recognized part of the TUDOR Championship race-day experience,” said David Pettit, IMSA VP of Marketing. “Over the years, we’ve connected the two worlds of sports car racing and music with events, race day concerts featuring PRS artists and exciting PRS Trophy guitar presentations at Victory Lane. We look forward to expanding this connection and developing additional ways to engage our growing fan base. ”
