Abstract
The integration of numerous and heterogeneous data produced by the legume community represents a challenge that needs to be overcome to fully exploit the considerable investment and progress made by many laboratories worldwide. Our goal is to provide and to ensure the interoperability of bioinformatics resources that are required to integrate and interpret such data. Legoo is a web portal which is based on the protocol BioMoby both to permit the interoperability between the different resources and to make available data and software within the bioinformatics community. The portal provides a unified entry point to numerous bioinformatics resources including a knowledge base that represents and structures published results. It provides a comparative genome browser to facilitate knowledge transfer between models and crops, which can be achieved by integrating genetic maps and genomic sequences as well as overlaying expression data. The portal also provides several genomic tools to exploit and combine the results of various technologies that have been developed in recent years. Finally, several workflows are provided allowing data and software to be combined to address frequent requests, such as promoter sequences analysis for sets of co-regulated genes.
