Nurses in hospitals in England are very good at their jobs. Student nurses work in hospitals for a long time before they become nurses.
One day last October, in a London hospital, the head nurse sent a very enthusiastic student nurse to one of the wards for old people. It was the time to bath the patients.
There was an old lady sitting on the first bed. ‘Time for your bath’, said the student nurse.
‘I’ve already had one today, thank you very much’, said the old lady.
‘Poor old lady’, thought the nurse. ‘She’s a bit crazy.’
The nurse took the old lady to the bathroom, took off all her clothes and gave her a bath. They went back to the ward together. The nurse was very surprised. ‘Look! There’s another old lady in your bed’, she said.
‘It’s my sister’, said the very clean old lady. ‘I’ve come to visit her!’
