Conversation
Arthur is at dinner with an old friend, George Tetley. George has just told Arthur a joke.

Arthur: (laughing loudly). That was very good. I’d never heard that one before.

George: Hadn’t you? Well, here’s another one like that. This one’s about a travelling salesman named Phil, who was quite a whisky-drinker.

Phil had gone to a strange town one day and had spent the evening in a pub. He’d drunk quite a lot and had just come out of the pub when he saw another man in the middle of the road. The other man had been in the pub too, and had drunk even more than Phil. He’d obviously seen something strange in the sky because he was pointing upwards.

‘Excuse me’, the man asked Phil, ‘is that the sun or the moon?’

Phil looked at it for a second and then said, ‘I’m afraid I can’t help you. I’m a stranger here myself.’
