JOKES, LAUGHS, SMILES
So Many
“Paul, you should begin learning English. About 350,000,000 people speak it.” – says his father.
“If there are so many of them” – says Paul “why do they need one more?”
Countable and Uncountable
The English language teacher explains the difference between countable and uncountable nouns. Then she asks the students to give examples. A student says, “Countable – money, uncountable – stars.”
Mathematics (math)
Steve likes to study mathematics. He can do all the math problems in his book very easily. On his way home from school, Steve passes the store. He sees a sign, which says “Candy- six pieces for five cents.”
Steve wants some candy, but he doesn’t have any money. He gets an idea.
“How much is the candy?” he asks.
“Six for five cents,” see the sign.
“Yes, but I don’t need six pieces”.
“How many do you need?”
“I think that it’s not a question of how many pieces I need. I think it’s a mathematics problem.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, if six pieces of candy are five cents, then five pieces are four cents, four pieces are three cents, three pieces are two cents, two pieces are one cent-, and one piece is nothing. I only need one piece, and since one piece is worth nothing, it isn’t necessary for me to pay you anything.”
And before the seller can understand his mathematics, Steve picks out a piece of candy, begins to eat it and walks away from the store.
