Details2003 - 2006 Horticulturalist, JP Garden Services Ltd, Haslemere UK Set up my own company to develop a business in the field of horticulture. This involved studying and applying an interest which had always appealed. However, the enterprise was not successful and I now wish to return to a business environment – in particular one where I can employ my language and inter-personal skills. 2002 - 2003 Database Engineer, BAE Systems plc, Preston UK Developed new access routines for the engineering database for the whole site (7000 employees). Wrote code changes to the IPD 1.7 release of IBM’s Enovia PM (Product Manager) software. This was a Client / Server environment in AIX and DB/2. Although the company was a good one to work for I felt that I would prefer not to work at a computer screen all day and I therefore decided upon a change of career. 2000 - 2001 Student, University of Central Lancashire, UK Studied E-commerce, Java Programming, Multimedia Design and Implementation, Project Management and obtained a Diploma in Multimedia Computing. The course project involved research and development of a www and CD-rom solution for a TV production company wishing to market its films. 2000 Software Engineer, Datel Defence Ltd, Preston UK Developed, tested and maintained real-time software for the British Aerospace Tornado aircraft. Software was written in the Ada language to conform to stringent ISO-9001 quality standards for the development of safety critical systems 1996 - 1999 Systems Engineer / Database Developer, Datel Rail Systems Ltd, Preston UK Worked as a Systems Engineer on the station control systems for the new Jubilee Line Extension for the London Underground. Responsible for equipment integration and test on-site. Liaised with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that contractual deadlines were met. Wrote the equipment test procedures and acted as team leader to a group of twenty test engineers. All work was carried out under strict railway health and safety procedures. Member of the software development team for a passenger information display system (CIS) for the Connex train operating company.
