Recommendations

With the many new projects within D-Grid, progress should be monitored by an international review board and necessary regulatory steps must be taken to ensure the coordinated software development. A steering committee with high-level representatives of all German science organizations (FhG, MPG, HGF, DFN, universities) will be established to ensure the uptake of Grid results in their respective organizations even after the initial five-year startup phase. Activities like D-Grid should be coordinated with European projects in order to make a coupling of publicly funded activities possible. ByY doing so synergistic effects can be optimized.
