INTERNATIONAL STUDIES CENTER


Study Abroad and semester programmes

International Studies center offers a wide variety of different courses. Our international students could choose from one-year-long, one-semester-long, two-week-long courses or we organise individual schedule also. ISC provides Hungarian language programs at all levels.



Basic Hungarian


This level emphasizes on basic grammatical structure and speaking – everyday and specific vocabulary -, reading and writing skills.

Beginner Hungarian


Building on basic grammatical fundamental, oral/aural skills, grammar and readings, we concentrate on listening, speaking and reading skills.

Intermediate Hungarian I.

Class provides further expansion of relevant vocabulary and oral/aural skills. Readings include texts with literature, history and folklore, as well as sociological and political orientation. Students are introduced to more complex grammar.



Intermediate Hungarian II.

Emphasizes on reading comprehension exercises, including discussions, writing through work with authentic texts.


Advanced Hungarian


Further emphasize is placed on oral/aural skills, grammar and reading comprehension. Students are expected to make oral presentations and join in discussions on relevant topics.

Library: the Central Library was founded in 1828 and is located in the main building of the University at Üllői út 26.The library has a remarkable collection of books, ( # volumes: 78,638) periodicals, videocassettes, CD-ROM collections, etc. both for lending and studying in the Reading Room. The departments have their own libraries for intensive studies as well (# volumes: 231,738)

Computer facilities: E-mail and Internet access is available in the Central Library, in the department libraries and in the Student Centre.

Sport activities: ball games, tennis, fencing, swimming, karate, etc. in sports-fields.

Accommodation is not provided for fee-paying students in Halls of Residence. Students stay in private lodgings, in rented rooms or apartments.

Preparatory courses for Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy are run in English and German by College International Ltd. and for students preparing for PE courses the Faculty provides assistance for the successful completion of the entrance examination. The completion of the course does not imply or assure admission or dispense with entrance examination to the degree programs.
